*Sigh*...So, this is what it feels like....when everything seems to fall into place....
These past few weeks have been incredible for both Tyson and me...
Two and a half weeks ago, we get married. Then, one week later, I receive an email from a very well liked principal that I hear everyone wants to work for, telling me that he would like an interview with me for a 4th grade teaching position at a BRAND NEW school they are opening up in Conroe ISD. The school district where I want to work!!! A couple days later, I go to that interview and land my job right on the spot! I don't know if this was written in the last blog, but about 2 weeks ago, I was offered the position as a 4th grade teacher for a new school that will be called Wilkinson Elementary. It's a brand new school up in construction right now. I will be able to be a part of helping that school build up by helping (with a team of teachers, parents, and students) decide on the school's colors and mascot. Also, I will just be helping with the opening of that brand new school by getting that school "up on it's feet." As I have been told by many experienced teachers, this will be an experience that I will treasure forever, and they are so jealous that I get to do this. My mentor for student teaching got to open a new school up years and years ago, and she told me that it was an experience that she has cherished forever. She told me that you form a comradery with the team of teachers because everyone is "in the same boat." You are all working together to get that school to where it needs to be. Needless to say, I am SO VERY excited for 1) Getting a job, especially 4th grade since that was one of my top choices of grades to teach and 2) Getting to experience the opening of a brand spanking new school.
BUT WAIT JUST RIGHT THERE!!!! If you think THAT was all of the good news, wait till you hear this. Tyson landed HIS job that he's been working so hard to get for so long! That's right! He officially got hired to be a K9 police officer!!!! He gets to use our dog, Rosco. Finally! All of this training and hard work has paid off. BETTER YET! Turns out we are getting EVERYTHING we want out of this job position! He gets better hours than he would probably get through another department being a K9 officer. Other departments would probably have him work those yucky 10p-6a shifts where Tyson would sleep all day, and work all night. But, Tyson will have a schedule that will keep him on a normal sleep schedule! This is better for us because I see him more. Also, He'll have three days off (one being for a training day though, so not technically off. But, it will be during the early morning till the middle of the day, so I'll get to see him in the evening.) One of those days off also includes a Sunday, which is FANTASTIC because that is our family day with my parents, AND we get that full day off together. Tyson gets a take-home car, so gas to and from work will be paid for. (Thank goodness because work will be on the south side of Houston). Tyson will also be getting paid the same as he is now, if not more! Also, we can stay living where we are at. Most other departments would have their K9 officers move closer to the city for K9 call outs. But, this department is allowing us to remain here. Thank goodness because the south side of Houston is not my cup of tea. Those of you who live in Houston, or used to live in Houston know what I'm talking about. Best of all, the department is going to acknowledge that Rosco IS Tyson's dog. Not the departments. Most other departments would possibly have had us donate Rosco to the department. He would have not technically been "ours" anymore, and if anything bad would have happened, then it was a possibility that the department would keep Rosco, and we wouldn't get him back. That would have made me VERY upset since we've worked so hard with raising him since he was a puppy. And NO! HE WAS NOT EASY!!!!!!!!!! And he's STILL a little bit of a challenge....
Anyways I could go on this long story of how we're getting everything we wanted from this department. Everything Tyson and I are getting out of this is FAR better than what we would have gotten if Tyson worked at another department. We would have had to move closer the the city, Tyson would have taken a pay cut (according to the other depts. we looked at), Tyson would have had to possibly donate Rosco to the other departments, and he would have had the "bad" schedule......etc. etc. etc. But! We are getting BETTER than this. We are getting everything opposite of this! YAY!!!!
Honestly, for the first time, I feel that everything seems to be falling into place for us. It's such a beautiful thing. Everything has happened so fast.....ALL IN A ROW! We get married, I land my job, Tyson lands his K9 job. What next? I hope this is just a look into greater things that are headed our way! I feel so blessed. Heck! I feel that WE have been so blessed. I hope this is only the beginning of great things to come.......oh I sure hope so....

We are so very happy for the two of you. I know how long you both have worked towards your goals, and now they have finally come to fruition. We can't wait to see you on Sunday and celebrate! Congrats!
Take a look at these sites. I know that Hermann Park is a little ways off from you guys, but I think this would be the perfect place for your bridal shots. Let me know is it is too far for you guys to drive, and we can figure something else out. There is also Bear Creek Park not far from our house if Hermann is too far. It's not as nice, but we can make it work.
